Overview

This unique itinerary lets you visit Namibia, Botswana and Zambia in just under 3 weeks. Starting your trip at Victoria Falls (Zambia) you then set off to Chobe National Park (Botswana) and onto Namibia. As each country is unique, encountering the poeple, exploring the culture, and discovering the wildlife and dramatic landscapes of all three makes this itinerary very rewarding. You don't have to stop here either, should time permit, you can extend your journey to include Zimbabwe too.

Itinerary

Location 1

The Woodlands at Waterberry Lodge, Livingstone

Days 1 & 2

On arrival into Livingstone, you will be met by one of the Waterberry team and transferred to the lodge located on the banks of the Zambezi River. We can recommend the evening boat cruise as a perfect introduction to your holiday in Africa! A second day here is a great opportunity to see the majestic Victoria Falls.

Muchenje Campsite, nr Chobe National Park

Days 3 & 4

Crossing over the border into Botswana you'll drive to Muchenje Campsite just outside the beautiful game rich Chobe National Park. You will have two nights here to enable you to have a full day of game driving in this area.

Kazile Island Lodge, Caprivi

Days 5 & 6

Your home for two nights, Kazile Island is an exclusive luxury lodge on the Kwando River in the Bwabwata National Park. This is a special paradise which can only be reached by boat. Enjoy the sounds of birds chirping from your tent, explore the waterways and soak up the ambience of this beautiful wilderness.

Nunda Campsite, Caprivi

Day 7

Continue your adventure through the Caprivi Strip to stay at Nunda Safari Lodge & Campsite. Nunda, the local Thimbukushu name given to the fruit of the Jackalberry tree, is situated on the Kavango River in the land of the proud Hambukushu people.

Location 5

Hakusembe River Lodge, Rundu

Day 8

Today you drive to Rundu and Hakusembe River Lodge which sits just above the beautiful Okavango flood plain. While relaxing on the floating deck you can marvel at the diverse birdlife here.

Location 6

Onguma Campsite, Etosha National Park

Days 9 & 10

Driving further west towards Namibia's famous Etosha National Park, for the next two nights you will stay in one of Onguma's campsites, either Leadwood or Tamboti. From here you can take guided game drives on the Onguma private reserve or game drive in Etosha in your own vehicle.

Location 7

Etosha Safari Lodge, Etosha National Park

Day 11

This morning you will head into the wonderful Etosha National Park. Enjoy game driving your way across the park and spend tonight just outside Andersson's Gate at Etosha Safari Lodge. With wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, this is a great place to watch the sun go down and relax after a day's game driving.

Granietkop Campsite, Damaraland

Day 12

Today you'll drive south into Damaraland and to Granietkop Campsite, which is owned by the Doro!Nawas Conservancy, a Namibian community run organisation. The campsite helps support the local community in terms of rural development, livelihood creation and the conservation of the area.

Spitzkoppe Campsite

Day 13

Continuing south, your next destination is Spitzkoppe, which we think is one of the most beautiful areas in Namibia, consisting of an imposing granite rock formation set in the plains. You can walk in the area and climb up to Bushman’s Paradise, a small basin tucked between the domes of rock and view the rock paintings done by Bushmen of the past and gaze at the amazing view.

Desert Breeze, Swakopmund

Days 14 & 15

This morning you will be driving to the coastal town of Swakopmund where you will stay for two nights at Desert Breeze, which is situated right in front of Swakopmund's mighty dunes. There are loads of activities on offer in and around Swakopmund, from catamaran cruises around Pelican Point to 'Tommy's Living Desert Tour'.

Day 16

This is one of the most unique establishments in the Sossusvlei area and only half an hour from the Sesriem gate, making it an ideal place to stay when you are visiting the highest dunes in the world! Nature drives, quad biking and hot air ballooning are all on offer while based at this castle-like oasis.

NamibRand Family Hideout, NamibRand Nature Reserve

Day 17

Your next destination is just a short drive away from Sossusvlei and located within the NamibRand International Dark Sky Reserve. There are just three camping spots on this farm in the heart of the nature reserve surrounded by exceptional desert and natural beauty. This is a fantastically private and peaceful campsite.

Barkhan Dune Retreat

Day 18

Heading north again this morning, you'll stay tonight at Barkhan Dune Retreat, a characterful property in a stunning location in the foothills of the Naukluft Mountains. A special feature of the chalets here is that you can roll your bed out onto the spacious veranda to sleep out under the stars!

Eningu Kalahari Lodge, nr Windhoek

Day 19

For your final night in Namibia you'll be staying at Eningu, a wonderful lodge where you can relax after your action-packed adventure. There is a raised thatched hide overlooking a floodlit water hole which draws oryx, impala, kudu, warthogs and porcupines (known as "Eningu" in Oshiwambo) which often come to feed at night.

Today you will drive to Windhoek airport for your debrief and vehicle handover before checking in for your flight home.
