Winelands to Windhoek

Overview

This is the opportunity to head from the southernmost tip of South Africa, from Cape Town, through constantly changing biomes across the country border and into Namibia. Arguably this is some of the most impressive scenery in Southern Africa. The trip encompasses the Cederberg Mountains and the stunning flower lands of the Western Cape, then as you head north into the arid Kalahari sands you will see desert adapted wildlife like the iconic Oryx. You continue through the dunes of Sossusvlei and finish your trip in Windhoek. This itinerary can work equally well in reverse.

Visiting Cape Town between June and September (South Africa's mid-winter) isn't much fun, so is not our recommendation!
