We have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. The approach we take in these scenarios is to closely follow government travel advice via the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the World Health Organisation.
What happens if the Foreign and Commonwealth Office doesn’t advise against travelling to a country?
In this situation, we continue to operate trips to that country. If you are due to travel to one of these countries and decide you’d like to change your plans we will endeavour to work with you to find a solution suitable to your circumstances.
Postpone your trip: please contact your consultant to see whether it is possible to postpone your trip to a later date, subject to the rules and policies confirmed by our suppliers – airlines, lodges & campsites. We will quote you for only additional costs (for example if you travel in a different season). Safari Drive will add no fees.
Change the destination of travel: please contact your consultant to see whether it is be possible to move your trip to an alternate destination. We will quote you for only additional costs. Safari Drive will add no fees.
Cancellation: you can cancel your trip subject to our terms and conditions. If this is your preferred option, we would suggest you contact your insurance company without delay to see whether you can recover any of these costs.
What happens if the Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises against all but essential travel to a country?
Repatriation: If you are currently staying in that country, you will be repatriated as soon as operationally possible or offered the opportunity to move to another country if you would prefer (subject to availability).
Due to travel: If you are due to travel, you have the option of deferring your trip or changing your destination.
I’m interested in booking, but want to know what happens to my money if I decide not to travel?
In these exceptional circumstances, we are offering flexibility on our booking terms. Your deposit will remain refundable until a mutually agreed date.
Travelling from a country with a coronavirus outbreak
Please be aware that some countries have entry restrictions in place for travellers who are either arriving directly from countries where there have been coronavirus outbreaks orhave visited them within the past 14 days. Please check the Foreign and Commonwealth Office travel advice regularly to check if this affects you.
