In recent years Global Positioning Systems and Sat nav pin point accuracy has opened up a whole new world in regards to wilderness navigation. This has in no way taken the fun out of driving in Africa but it does give an added confidence when exploring the more remote regions.

Garmin have been leading the way in navigation technology since the early 80s. Garmin Nuvi
We currently have Garmin Nuvis in all the vehicles. These are small light weight but tough units. They are incredibly simple to use and can be understood with in minutes. They have a bright widescreen display but can easily be kept in your pocket when you leave the vehicle.

Tracks for Africa
Tracks for Africa is without doubt the most comprehensive and detailed african road mapping available for Satellite navigation systems. T4a is a community based project intent on mapping the most remote tracks in the African continent. The data is continually collected and updated by overland enthusiasts from around the world.
