Places to visit and wildlife notes

Here is a list of just some of our favourite places to visit in Tanzania. This is not a comprehensive list so if there are other places you are keen to visit and would like further information please just let us know and we'll be happy to help. They can all be included as part of a self drive itinerary except for the following (which can be found towards the end of the list):

  • Selous Game Reserve
  • Ruaha National Park
  • Katavi National Park
  • Mahale Mountains National Park

Tanzania is a vast country and these areas are simply too far away from the other areas we go to. Selous and Ruaha would involve a 14 hour drive from our base in Arusha with nowhere suitable to stay en route - and Mahale and Katavi would also necessitate huge distances wasting valuable holiday time. It is more appropriate to fly into these regions and this is something we regularly arrange for people who want to visit them as an 'add-on' to their self drive safari. Please don't hesitate to ask if this is of interest.
