This safari is an example of the kind of safari we can organise and is being run as a special offer from 1st November 2009 to 31st May 2010. You can make any changes you wish to this itinerary, although some changes, such as extra lodge stays will incur extra costs.

Day 1: Depart London
You will depart London for your flight to Windhoek.
Day 2: The Elegant Bed and Breakfast, Windhoek
You arrive in Windhoek. On arrival, you will be met and taken to The Elegant where you will stay on a bed and breakfast basis in one of six luxurious rooms. Here you can relax in the garden, take a well earned swim and enjoy looking round Windhoek. In the afternoon you will be driven to our base where you will be briefed on the vehicle, equipment, your route and safety issues.
Day 3: Kalahari Anib Lodge, Mariental Campsite
Having stocked up with fresh food take the road south and spend the night at Kalahari Anib Lodge near Mariental. This is a large lodge set on the edge of the Kalahari. Near by are three private camping areas each with its own shower, flush loo and braai area. You can cater for yourselves or eat in the lodge. Here you can relax in these tranquil surroundings. It has a friendly feeling and is a perfect stop over. Here you will be camping in a pre booked campsite.
Day 4: Mata Mata Rest Camp, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park
This morning drive from Kalahari Anib to Welverdiend and cross the border from Nambia into the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Situated on the banks of the Auob River on the western boundary of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Mata Mata rest camp is the border between Namibia and Botswana. The camp provides fuel, shop, a pool and accommodation which ranges from chalets through to camp sites. Good self catering facilities are also provided. The camp is surrounded by thorny Kalahari dune bushveld, giraffe are typically found in the area. Spend the afternoon enjoying the wildlife along the Auob River. You will be camping in a pre booked campsite.

Day 5 & 6: Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Campsite
There is a choice of some excellent, well appointed campsite within the park. You will be camping in a pre booked campsite.
Day 7: Canon Road House, Fish River Canyon
Drive to the Fish River Canyon. Just north of the road to the Canyon is a small lodge called Canon Road House which has fuel a small shop, restaurant and bar. Nearby is a small well appointed campsite with shaded camping areas and good showers and loos. You can eat in the Road House and use the swimming pool. You will be camping in a pre booked campsite.
Day 8 & 9: Klein Aus Vista Campsite, Aus
Today you have two a choice of routes, the longer but truly beautiful option is south to the Orange River then north to Rosh Pinah and Aus. Please check before setting off, if the Fish River is in flood the route may not be passable. The other route on the tar road is easier and quick. You will stay at the lovely Klein Aus Vista and will have a chance to visit the wild horses, do some trekking on the farm and visit Luderitz. The campsite, set among huge rocks, is lovely, it is just 10 minutes drive from the lodge, where you can eat should you wish. Here you will be camping in a pre booked campsite.

Day 10: Namtib Lodge, Namib Naukluft
Today you drive to Namtib Desert Lodge, which is a privately owned biosphere reserve covering an area of 16,400 hectares situated at the edge of the Namib Desert in the Tiras Mountains. Farming and human activities are adapted to suit the arid climate prevailing in southern Namibia. The fascinating landscape offers an abundance of breathtaking views and hosts a wealth of fauna and flora. Some distance from the lodge is a lovely '5 star' campsite with six shaded sites and a beautifully maintained shower and loo block. Here you will be camping in a pre booked campsite.
Day 11: Sesriem Campsite, Sossusvlei
Drive south to Sesriem. West of the Naukluft Mountains is where the Tsauchab River cuts a deep, narrow gorge sheltering many animals and plants. It also attracts a large variety of birds. You camp near the world’s highest sand dunes at Sossusvlei in the Namib Naukluft Desert, the world’s oldest desert. The dunes reach 300m high and extend as far as the eye can see. They look stunning at dawn and dusk. The system of pans, which fill with water during a good rainy season, attract a variety of aquatic birds. In the dry season, the dunes are patterned by the progress of the sidewinding snake, springbok, gemsbok and mountain zebra.
The camp has good facilities with showers, flush loos and stone grills to cook on, although they are not that well maintained. Be warned as it is busy and very near two lodges and a fuel station so peace and quiet when camping is not always possible. You will be camping in a pre-booked campsite.
Day 12: Bloedkoppie Campsite, Northern Namib
Today you will drive north and head to Bloedkoppie, a pleasant campsite with some stunning views over the Namib desert. There is good walking in this remote and stunning area. There is no water here just good long drop loos.You will be camping in a pre-booked campsite.
Day 13: Hochland Nest, west of Windhoek
Drive towards Windhoek on the steep and dramatic C28. Slow and very careful 4x4 driving is required on this road. You will see a sign to Hochland Nest 50kms before Windhoek. The lodge is set on a hill over look the Friedenau Dam. The lodge has 6 large en suite rooms with queen sized beds as well as a large bar and dining area. This delightful lodge is surrounded by a huge numbers of birds and you can take boats out on the dam. You stay here on a half board basis in a luxury suite.
Day 14: Depart
Drive back to Windhoek, return the vehicle and transfer to the airport for your flight to London.
