Something else we specialise in
Company founders, Charles and Meregan Norwood, organised their very own wedding on safari, and now use their knowledge expertise to help you organise yours. We are one of the few companies who now specialise in wedding safaris.
Organising wedding safaris is one of the most rewarding parts of our business as we become involved in such important arrangements. We have been doing it for years and can offer you a fantastic range of options relating to every aspect of your wedding - all with a professional yet personal approach. Crucially, we are experts at all the rules and regulations which means you are free to focus on the more exciting things.
A Kenyan Wedding
Timings and planning (opens as a dropdown)
Each country has its own marriage laws and procedures. In most cases the bride and groom have to be in the country where they are getting married for the week preceding the wedding. Therefore, we tend to suggest a two week trip where you spend the first few days to a week together, possibly on safari, then move to the lodge from which your wedding will be based. You can then honeymoon for the rest of your time in Africa, a time when many people head to the coast, alternatively you may want to indulge in some more safari activities.
Working with You
Everyone has a different idea of their perfect day when it comes to getting married. We really understand this .
We don't sell pre-set wedding itineraries and we don't try and mould your preferences and requirements into an existing package. We work very closely with you towards creating the most wonderful African wedding that fits your very own personal requirements.
It is a joy for us to be involved in the most important day of your life and to know that we are putting together a truly sensational trip for you.
A beach ceremony
The Ceremony (opens as a dropdown)
You may prefer a civil or religious ceremony, we are happy to arrange either and we are pleased to be able to cater for many denominations. If you have been married before, some priests will not marry you although a civil ceremony is always possible. If you have any queries, please speak to us and we will be able to advise you.
Rules, regulations and legalities
Each country has its own marriage laws and procedures, which are accompanied by a significant amount of red tape. We are familiar with the rules and regulations so we know what is feasible to arrange and at the same time, we are able to minimise the amount of time you have to spend on paperwork. Special wedding licenses are usually required and it is imperative that the formalities are completed correctly. We take this burden away from you so that you are free to focus on the more enjoyable aspects of your wedding.
Every wedding that we arrange is legally binding when you get home; something that is not always the case when getting married abroad.
The Marriage Certificate
A choice of locations (opens as a dropdown)
We organise weddings at a choice of beautiful, remote locations in Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa. If you're not sure where you want to get married, please get in touch and we'll be happy to talk youthrough the choices. Over the years, we have discovered some sensational places to get married, some incredible lodges from which to base weddings and some equally fantastic honeymoon destinations.
Bush, beach or lodge ceremonies
The exact location of your ceremony is up to you, a private bush wedding, an empty beach, an intimate lodge or the edge of Victoria Falls are all possibilities. There are some simply stunning spots deep in the heart of the bush with beautiful far-reaching views often scattered with plains game and other wildlife. A more formal set-up is possible with lodge-based weddings, whether they be on the lawn or beside a pool while a perfect white sandy beach lapped by the Indian Ocean is an ideal setting for a relaxed and romantic ceremony, alternatively you can utter your vows before the majestic back drop of the stunning Victoria Falls.
The night before your wedding
You may wish to follow tradition and spend the night before your wedding in different locations, we can arrange for you to stay in separate lodges or in separate rooms in the same lodge. We have also organised some fabulous pre-wedding evenings for both the bride and groom and there are some wonderful options for you to consider, such as:
- Sundowners in the bush and a dinner cooked on an open fire
- Spoiling spa treatments and a candle-lit dinner by the lodge pool
- An evening in the local village with dancing and singing
- A night time game drive or early evening bush walk
- A delicious dinner with your guests
Wedding Guests (opens as a dropdown)
Some couples love the idea of escaping to Africa to get married in a totally private ceremony while others are keen to invite family and friends to join them.
If you choose to invite guests they can meet up with you at any stage of your trip, we can arrange for them to come on safari with you or just to the wedding ceremony. We can help with your guests arrangements, no matter how long or short a time they wish to spend in Africa. We can offer exceptional discounts if there are a number of you staying in the same lodge and we can even arrange for your wedding party to have exclusive use of a lodge, its staff and facilities.

We have a wealth of experience organising multiple plans for wedding parties and your guests will benefit from our intimate knowledge, professional care and attention and competitive rates.
African weddings are really exciting because there are so many great possibilities on the day, here are some ideas:

After the wedding (opens as a dropdown)
We will tailor your reception to your exact wishes and can organise anything from a simple, romantic, bush picnic for two to a lavish party in the lodge with family and friends.Â
If you decide to get married in the bush, we normally set up a table near to the spot where the actual ceremony takes place. You can then enjoy a delicious meal with a wedding cake, champagne and wine, you are welcome to request a special meal.
Depending on the location of your wedding, we can arrange for you to beentertained after the ceremony with beautiful, tribal singing by Samburu orMaasai warriors and women. This is a wonderfully colourful spectacle and a truly evocative African experience, a perfect compliment to the location of your wedding.
The evening of your wedding day
On the evening of your wedding, there are also plenty of choices. Again, what you do is totally up to you and we can help to arrange a memorable evening. You may like to have drinks on the lawn of the lodge followed by an opulent dinner with your guests. Alternatively, you could head off into thebush together for sundowners and enjoy the spectacular sights and sounds of the wilderness around you before returning to the lodge for a romantic, private, candlelit dinner.
