Experience the undiscovered
Kenya with Safari Drive
Kenya is one of our latest Safari Drive destinations and one that
we are very excited about. The parts of Kenya we travel to are far
from the madding crowd of zebra stripe mini-buses and the frantic
clicking of cameras by people desperate to simply tick off the ‘big
five’. We are in a position to transport you to huge tracts of privately
owned land, where the game wanders freely and you have the incredible
opportunity to explore Africa for yourselves and to experience the
thrill of adventure and discovery that a self drive safari offers
you.
We take you into the heart of some of the world’s top conservation
areas, onto community owned land and into the less visited National
Parks and Reserves, staying in fabulous lodges and magnificent private
campsites. Fro self drive safaris, we definitely recommend the areas
to the north. The honey pot parks of the Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo
are not suitable for self drive as distances are huge and these
areas are infinitely busier compared to the beautiful areas you
can visit with Safari Drive.
The solitude of the north
Our Kenyan journeys start at Loisaba, a fabulous lodge set in 61,000
acres of privately owned, pristine, African bush land. Loisaba is
not just a place of beauty and variety, it is a practical project
in sustainable land use with a mixture of natural bush and working
cattle farm. People who stay here see a very special side of this
wonderful country. At Loisaba, there are no game park rules, no
fenced-in animals, no hoards of tourists and no end of possibilities
for you to explore.
Many people like to stay in the lodge for a night or two before
setting off on their own. Here, you will be looked after brilliantly
and on the day of your departure, our team will give you a comprehensive
briefing, go over your route with you and conduct a detailed vehicle
hand-over making sure you are 100% happy, confident and ready to
go!
With thanks to Cheli & Peacock for allowing
us to use some of the photographs from their collection of Kenya
lodges and camps.
