Trip Information

Here is a letter we received from Mr Dublanko with his photographs following his trip...

Dear Meregan,

I want to thank you once again for arranging our safari to Botswana. As independent travellers who grew up as part of the Lonely Planet generation, we have always searched for means of getting as close to the heart of the destinations we visit away from the tourists and the areas they frequent. As keen photographers, my wife and I have always wanted to go on safari but were not keen on the idea of being driven along with other tourists who did not share our interests.

The attached pictures of a lion kill at Nxai Pan (of which we photographed two) are a good example. We spent 5 hours waiting for this lioness to make her move as safari vehicles came and went every 1/2 hour or so. When the kill finally took place around 10:45 AM, we were the only persons who witnessed it. There were many other similar instances where our patience was rewarded.

Having lived in the third or developing world for the past 15 years, I realize how difficult coordinating such a trip in Botswana must be and commend Bronwyn and your ground staff in Botswana on what must be a thankless job well done. In this age of the internet, where entire trips can be arranged on-line with a few clicks, you are providing a very valuable service that no amount of technology could have arranged. We enjoyed our trip immensely and plan to do it again within the next 12-24 months, although perhaps at a cooler time of year and with more time to spare.

Thanks again.

Regards
