“Safari Drive provided us with an excellent service.”
A great introduction to self driving in Africa
Namibia is a perfect starting point for anyone who wants to tour independently in Africa, it has everything for a perfect self drive holiday and offers great value. Safari Drive are long standing ground operators in Namibia with our own Windhoek based office and staff which ensure you have the best possible briefings and back up during your holiday. We are on the ground to meet you off the plane and available 24 hours a day to sort out any problems during your trip. We use our own Land Rover Defenders that are individually prepared for your journey.
Namibia has enormous geographical variety and contains a large part of the Kalahari Desert in the east of the country. In the north is the Etosha Pan, a verdant, game-rich area boasting a huge range of species.
The Safari Drive Namibia Office
Namibia is one of our most long-standing destinations and we have our own Windhoek office and team of three, lead by a very experienced guide Mike Whitelock. This means that Safari Drive clients get the best possible local briefing, service and back up.
We have an intimate knowledge of the country and a long track record in creating fantastic tailor-made safaris for our clients throughout Namibia.
We carefully plan your itinerary to avoid covering huge distances which are very tiring on a self drive in Namibia and we always make sure that we create very manageable itineraries, allowing plenty of time for rest and relaxation in each place before your exciting journey continues.Link to Namibia Gallery

A Few Highlights of Namibia
Here is a list of just some of our favourite places to visit in Namibia. They are all places that we would recommend for a self drive safari. This is not a comprehensive list and there are many other superb locations which we we'll be happy to discuss with you.
Etosha National Park
One of Africa's best National Parks, Etosha is a must see! Here you will have the enjoyment of driving over Etosha's Pans whilst viewing a incredible array of Wildlife.
The Damaraland’s semi-desert wilderness is simply stunning. It is also home to the country’s famous desert-adapted elephants and black rhino.
The Kaokoland is an area which is difficult to reach for most tourists, but not self drivers! It's vast, unspoilt and eye opening. A real favourite for the photographers!
The hauntingly beautiful big dunes of the Namib are a must for any visit to Namibia and a sunrise trek us the largest dune reveals spectacular vistas of the desert.
Famously known for it's ship wrecks and dense fogs, the Skeleton Coast is one of the most unique and authentic attractions in Africa.
Fish River Canyon
