When is a good time to go to Botswana?

Lodges and hotels in Botswana are open all year round. The dry season is April to November. The wet season is from November to March although predominantly just February and March.This period is a haven for all types of migrant birds and wonderful butterflies and flowers.

Since Botswana is largely desert or semi-desert it does receive very low levels of rainfall so the rainy season brings only very sporadic downpours yet very high temperatures. During May to September, the nights can be chilly.

The following chart is a quick reference to the predominant weather conditions during different months of the year. However, please remember that there are no hard and fast rules!
